Vocabulary Due Date: Friday May 7th

Domestic violence- when someone you live with attacks you and tries to hurt you.

My own words:Is when you are in a relationship,that person is try to hurt if you did something.

Victims- someone or something which has been hurt, damaged or killed or has suffered, either because of the actions of someone or something else, or because of illness or chance.

Example: The children are the innocent/helpless victims of the fighting.

My own words: is when you attack someone,and you got yourself hurting even through you did not want that to be happen.

Human Rights- the basic rights which it is generally considered all people should have, such as justice and the freedom to say what you think.

Example:She's claiming that her detention by the police was a violation of her human rights.

My own words: people can say whatever they want,because they have freedom to say what they think.

Advocate- to publicly support or suggest an idea, development or way of doing something.

Example: She is renowned for her advocacy of human rights.

My own words: is when you stand for a person,or fighting for a person.

Grassroots-the ordinary people in a society or an organization, especially a political party.

Example:he feeling among the grassroots of the Party is that the leaders are not radical enough.

My own words:Is when people make hand together to make a perfect changes.

socialize- to spend the time when you are not working with friends or with other people in order to enjoy yourself.

Confidential-secret, often in a formal, business or military situation.

Attitude- a feeling or opinion about something or someone, or a way of behaving that is caused by this.

Cover letter- a letter or note which contains information about the thing it is sent with.

Co-worker-a person working with another worker, especially as a partner or helper.

Example: everyday I had a co-worker in my job.

Criticism-when you say that something or someone is bad; disapproval.

Discrimination-treating a person or particular group of people differently, especially in a worse way from the way in which you treat other people, because of their skin color, religion, sex, etc.

Until 1986 most companies would not even allow women to take the examinations, but such blatant discrimination is now disappearing.

My own words- is when someone treating bad of because you have black skin or white skin that you don't like and keep argue each other.

Duty-something that you have to do because it is part of your job, or something that you feel is the right thing to do.

Evaluate-to judge or calculate the quality, importance, amount or value of something.

Example:It's impossible to evaluate these results without knowing more about the research methods employed.

Evaluation-the process of comparing a job with other jobs in an organization and deciding how much the person who is doing the job should be paid.

Flexible-able to change or be changed easily according to the situation.

Initiative- a new action or movement, often intended to solve a problem.

Novice-a person who is not experienced in a job or situation.

Reliable-Something or someone that is reliable can be trusted or believed because they work or behave well in the way you expect.

Salary-a fixed amount of money agreed every year as pay for an employee, usually paid directly into his or her bank account every month.

Task-a piece of work to be done, especially one done regularly, unwillingly or with difficulty.

Wages-to fight a war or organize a series of activities in order to achieve something.
